Louise Pryor
Actuary, Director
Louise is an actuary with extensive experience across the range of actuarial practice, including insurance, pensions and social security, specialising in financial and risk modelling and climate change. She is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Louise has thirty years of experience in actuarial consulting, software development and academia, working with a variety of clients in the public and private sectors. She has also been a lecturer at the Universities of Birmingham and Edinburgh, and a member of the Governing Body of Newnham College in the University of Cambridge. Louise was Director, Actuarial Standards at the Financial Report Council, where she led the development of the Technical Actuarial Standards, which are now mandatory for all UK actuaries.
She has an MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Computer Science from Northwestern University, USA. She is a member of the IFoA’s Council and until recently chaired its Resource and Environment Board. Louise is currently Chair of the London Climate Change Partnership.
